Freedom of speech

“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”

Borderline

Donald Trump spent more than a year rousing crowds with a simple promise: “I’ll build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Since the “bad hombres” were entering the United States and not leaving, Trump deemed it appropriate that Mexico would pay for this wall.

With a simple adjustment to the American flag I made this poster which depicts Trumps ultimate monument to xenophobia.

Straightening the circle

The symbol of the cycle is omnipresent on todays products and packagings. To the consumer this can be misleading, constantly suggesting the waste will be reused. This way of recycling often is just a disposal via detours. Wrongly disposed or problematic materials are burnt or exported, statistically counting as recycled. While the total amount of waste produced is going up, the real challenge of reducing waste is neglected.

FIND

The message of my poster titled Find (or Lelet in Hungarian) is that if humanity will not change in its attitude towards the environment, then the legacy that left on Earth will be only the accummulated heaps of garbage. Waste that takes ages to break down and the overuse of plastics are becoming more and more important topics, in my opinion. My poster is meant to bring attention to this problem.

I would like environmental pollution to become our history and for humankind to strive to eradicate even its memory for the future generations.

Tens of thousands of refugees are on their dangerous journey across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. In recent years, the number of »boat people« has increased drastically, and with it the number of drowned refugees. The »SOS« sign on the horizon of the Mediterranean Sea is a call for help and a bearer for hope at the same time and requires support.

Ego

Rugged individualism is a common disease of our time. It is bound with selfishness and has many negative consequences at all levels. Excessive self-adoration leads to ignoring each other; each individual sees its own interests without consideration of the common good, while we live in a world, in which we are increasingly interdependent on each other.
To illustrate this idea, I chose to use an iconic image of pure beauty and transformed it thoroughly in order to create something monstrous. The belly button – is the center of the individual and moving it to the center of the Venuses face expresses this imbalance called “belly button gazing”.

Monosanto

Worldwide, more and more industrial farming is carried on. Regardless of risks to man and nature monocultures are used from genetically modified seeds. Monsanto is heavily involved in this development. The agricultural chemical company is a global leader in biotechnology and has 90% of the patents of the currently cultivated genetically modified organisms.

Rural Exodus

Most major german cities are bursting at the seams, the rents go into the absurd, many residents suffer from the narrows and often flee into nature. Meanwhile, rural areas slowly but surely are orphaned: abandoned villages, old people and lack of prospects determine the picture. Young, motivated residents flee to the cities – a vicious circle.

Pray for peace

“War and peace” is an eternal issue facing mankind in the past, present and future. At present, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to intensify, and the potential “nuclear crisis” under the confrontation and arms race between major powers is touching Pandora’s box, and the alarm bell has already sounded. “Peace” requires the common wisdom of mankind…

In your head

A little voice in our head. We trust it, as we feel it is our own. It knows what we want, what we need, what’s right and wrong. It seems we have made up our own mind, relying on the “independent” and “trustworthy” information network Facebook. Though it is merely an echo-chamber created by algorithms, which constantly gives us this affirmation.

Who uses facebook anyway?

1,4 billion daily active users, and 2,2 billion users in total. That’s more than a quarter of all people alive. In Europe and the US it makes up half the population. This enormous potential of influence is not only abused commercially, but also for political propaganda and manipulation.

Virtual World

These days parents are very busy. They are tied up at their works. So they can’t pay enough attention to their children. Kids need to play and get attention, but who can give it to them? The tired and angry parents after a hard day? No. It doesn’t sounds good. So the only one who can play with them is their computer with its exiting games and web sites. But are all of the games and websites safe for the little children? Do the parents know anything about the virtual world, in which their children drown? If just one parent could image their kid in the virtual world as this little boy watching this poster is enough.

On some days, this rapid change of moods causes discomfort. On other days, it triggers a state of indifference.

The poster reflects the inequality between social classes. In this dog-eat-dog world, whoever is wealthier and has a bigger influence reigns over those who are inferior, and the “superiors” can enforce their rights more easily against the others, thus keeping them suppressed.
