For 10 years, the infrastructures of the Football World Cup are being built in Qatar. For 10 years, a silent massacre is happening there: the massacre of Indian, Pakistani, Nepalese, Bengali, Sri Lankan workers, reduced to near slavery conditions. At least 6500 workers died on those building sites according to The Guardian.

42 years ago, the French graphic designer, Alain Le Quernec, created a poster to alert people about the World Cup in Argentina where Videla’s bloody dictatorship raged. In reference to this previous « shame cup » and as a tribute to Alain, I have revisited his graphic idea today to denounce this new mass grave on which a party will be hosted, with the complicity of FIFA and our governments.

Light, symbolizing life, happiness, hope, justice and sacredness, conveys the most glorious and spectacular impression to mankind. While it has a guiding role, it can also cause the instinctive excitement and joy of all things of life. But we are at home with mobile phones in our hands, so where is the hope of mankind now? Where does this light lead us? Maybe in the next generation.

The idea was to show a positive expression of showing one’s teeth, because it needs courage to do so. Have you ever blunt your teeth on trying to achieve something? Mostly, it’s worth the effort.

In recent months, the work of sea rescuers has been made incredibly difficult by the Corona pandemic. While inaction on one front ensured falling infection figures, missions on the Mediterranean came to a complete standstill at times. Many states even took restrictive measures against non-governmental teams of sea rescuers. Allowing people to die on the Mediterranean Sea in order to further the isolation of Europe and to fight political power struggles is intolerable and speaks against any humanity.

This poster reflects our neglect with the planet present situation, the unnecessary excessive pollution that we generate and the direction we are taking.

Mother Earth does not belong to us, we belong to her, the damage we do, we do it to ourselves. Deforestation is one of the strongest damage and more difficult to solve. Do you want to continue deforesting? Are you sure?

Most major german cities are bursting at the seams, the rents go into the absurd, many residents suffer from the narrows and often flee into nature. Meanwhile, rural areas slowly but surely are orphaned: abandoned villages, old people and lack of prospects determine the picture. Young, motivated residents flee to the cities – a vicious circle.

I tried to approach the themes destruction of environment and globalization in a funny way.

We‘re consuming non-stop. Only because we have the possibility to.
Instead of grappling with our discontentedness we buy stuff that we don‘t even need.
We consume to compensate the condition of feeling empty.
The use of stained and strong colours call the viewers attention.
On the first sight it seems amusing and fun to spot more and more things.
After a while the overfill starts to produce overstimulation in order to thought-provoking.

The fact, that in Germany women compared to men are still paid 21 percent less is unbelievable and totally not appropriate nowadays. I really asked myself how being a „man” (ergo someone having a penis – definition is also out-of-date by the way) brings that somebody to earn and deserve more?

Size obviously matters!

Social media keeps feeding us new content. Algorithms filter and reinforce existing opinions. We are in an information bubble that we cannot escape.

An idea about forced marriage, sexual slavery and gender domination.

To some of the leaders of the world the idea of war is the same as the music notes which they play whenever they want without considering the consequences, and as a result, countless civilians and soldiers die without a reasonable cause!

The aim of the poster is to raise awareness about the risks of one of the most commonly used digital tools. This risk is caused by the lack of information about data security. Even people with a higher knowledge, the security of digital security is ignored. At some point, a multitude of users seem to be through user-friendly design. By rearranging the letters of the original, the design has been configured to give an erroneous view in a certain way to an observer – a warning sign that a irresponsible collection of data can be used in a dangerous way, especially for minorities.

Language is evolving: a visual statement for diversity and inclusion. In German, symbols like *, :, or · are increasingly used to mark gender-inclusive language. In this work, they replace vowels—making linguistic change boldly visible.

YES WE SCAN! Sounds quite right, but obviously isn’t. President Obama’s claim changed its true meaning tragically overnight, when the whistle was finally blown. Mind the Gap!

Anti-Semitic incidents are flaring up again at an alarming rate in Germany.
Jews have been the target of hatred and incitement, not only since Halle – acts of violence, insults or incitement of the people. Jewish citizens are rightly concerned. Together we must take action against emerging anti-Semitism and raise awareness and consciousness in society.

Not considering yourself a Nazi does not mean you’re allowed to be rassistic towards others in public. Same as the sentence „I don’t have anything against foreigners, but …“ often ends with the complete opposite opinion. This is a poster to remind all the concerned citizens on what the other people really think about their behaviour.

Before you criticize others, start with yourself: Germany is Europe´s number one in annual paper consumption.

The priest’s penis winds in treacherous christianity around its shelter. It covers criminals, blurres offenses and surpresses its pilgrimage victims. It preaches old concepts of misleading care and assured damnation in foul innocence. Free yourself from sin and bid welcome god’s seed, for that it thrives its roots in you.

Take a look at Poland these days, and you will see one scandal after another. Suppression and decay of democracy in the heart of europe.

The poster announces the annihilation of the world caused by humans. The poster humorously references Posters of classic Monster Films. Because the scariest Monster of them all is not the next Godzilla but the human. In our time of the Anthropocene, he chews his way through the world while drooling all over the place. The legs and arms of the parasite wrap greedily around the world while it slowly melts. Shortage of resources, climate change and species extinction have become common problems, which require more radical actions. Because the end of the world will not happen dramatically like in a disaster movie, but slowly with every day the world is exploited by humans to the point of maximum profit.

The Japanese even have a name for it: Karojisatsu, suicide from overwork. A society that places achievement over the human being isn‘t only the reality in Japan. Even though we have no word for it yet, we need to change something. Otherwise we will need one very soon. I demand: Let’s distance ourselves from the pressure of achievement, back to more quality of life.

In 2050, 3x more plastic could swim in the sea than fish. There are already 6x more plastic in the water than plankton in many parts of the sea and many seabirds and marine mammals die from contact with plastic waste. A single plastic bottle takes 450 years to decompose in the sea, but it never dissolves completely, but splits only into small, barely visible plastic particles.

We need to rethink how we treat our environment. People should be made aware of this issue because it affects each of us!

Ritalin is »the« trendy medication of our time, which is being prescribed way too often, in my opinion to active children in order to adjust them to common standard. In my poster, a future is shown in hyperrealistic style, where Ritalin is used as a basic ingredient in children’s nutrition products, such as the well known Swiss ice cream brand »Rakete« from Frisco (Nestlé).

In Turkey activists and journalists are arrested and silenced.

Who is deciding over rights?
Rights made for whom and by whom?
Can we categorize human beings by laws?
Is it sometimes just convenient to cling to paragraphs and thereby shirk responsibility?
